Taming the Dragon

Secondary Trauma Management for Field Professionals

Taming the Dragon is a groundbreaking training seminar, long overdue for service providers in occupations where direct contact with people can be a source of stress. Secondary Trauma occurs routinely in many professional settings, where people are exposed long hours, demanding schedules and to the ongoing care of their clients. Taking time off from work due to stress has become more common in recent years, which affects many aspects of the workplace.

Taming the Dragon is an in-depth look at how the stress response, once activated, can become chronically stimulated, causing a drop in immune function and possibly more frequent illness. We will explore the physiology of stress, how it can occur and how to prevent it from becoming a problem by looking at some new ways to approach our personal response to stressful situations.

Rebekah’s skillful and sensitive facilitation creates an arena where participants can see a collection of stress management techniques, both old and new; from cutting-edge psychology to ancient Chinese medical concepts and treatments. By facilitating exploration of our common experiences and teaching practical skills, Rebekah helps to guide the way to peace of mind, to help you feel well and live well.

Can You Care Without Carrying?

An Exploration of Caring for Others and Self

Have you noticed that caring and pain often go hand in hand? It’s as if we believe that if we really care about someone or something, we also have to carry some pain. But is this really necessary? Maybe there’s a way to care, to be effective and intimate in our work and our relationships outside of work, without carrying such a heavy load.

The answers lie deep within you. What are your experiences, thoughts, feelings and beliefs about yourself and the world? How do you see yourself and others and how does this impact you, body, mind and spirit?

I invite you to explore this with me. Let’s see what we can discover together.

The Second Springtime

Health, Happiness and Vibrancy for Your Menopausal Years
Picture
The Second Springtime is how East Asian medicine describes the menopausal years of a woman’s life. This is the time when the children have grown, the monthly cycles have stopped and a woman has more time to devote to her own spiritual development, creativity and freedom.

Meanwhile, many of us have hot flashes, insomnia, night sweats and all kinds of other complaints that can get in the way of enjoying this time of change but there is hope! Women in the ancient Orient helped one another stay healthy and happy with the time tested methods they learned from generations before. Now you can learn too!

The Second Springtime is a two hour workshop for women of all ages to learn the wisdom and techniques from ancient China. We will learn qigong meditations, visualizations and movements, especially for women to boost energy, balance emotions and provide restful sleep.
